In this blog post,
We can see that the effects begun in the late 70's, 80's and 90's of the corporate business model placing stockholders profits and rank and yank above employee well being and customer connection drove the workforce into a disengaged, stressed, disloyal waste of productivity. This standard could be seen percolating throughout history, but had not become the excepted written standard of business theory until the large corporations in the early 70's embraced it's method LEGALLY as a standard of doing business. A good example of an earlier clue was in 1912. The Titanic by existing law needed 25% of the guests covered by lifeboat escape, a loophole, being the Titanic was 4 times the size of any other ship. They left 75% of the berths without lifeboats in anticipation of the law to caught up, in order to simply save the money. Along came the iceberg, guess how many people died? You got it 75%. Just because it is not illegal does not mean that it is good business. The law is a low bar that is meant to limit loss of life and reflect a minimum beginning to rule a culture. Law is not a standard for excellence and success, that is reserved for Principles, Values and a future Just Cause that is of great vision moving beyond the current norm and that is inspirational. Behavioral science now tells us that what we are seeing here as a Nation, and Globally is not only a waste of potential productivity but quality of life, and life itself based on the loss of it with the sickness and violence following stress and lack of meaning. Innovative visionary companies over the last decades have understood the power of safe supportive environments with crystal clear communication through trust and recognition. They have the resources both human and data driven to empower their teams and reach great and sustainable heights. The Resources and the Will to achieve moral and financial success. Small business has been late to break the antiquated model "do as I say!" and begun to realize the power of Servant Leadership. The Business Coach at their core removes the veil to expose the value of human potential dormant in each individual while introducing a culture allowing them to thrive together, democratizing happiness while reaching their full potential.
